Figure drawing reflection post

On the weeks of September 28th and October 2nd my Art class did figure drawing with Tommy Van Auken. The drawings pictured above are my favorite drawings from the two weeks with Tommy. We primarily worked on gesture drawings but did longer studies the last 2 days. It was cool to see how my gesture drawings got better and better over the course of the 2 weeks. The instruction Tommy gave was very insightful, I felt that It made me look for things that I wouldn't have searched for previously in drawings. The longer studies at the end were really fun too. For those drawings we did subtractive drawing which was something I hadn't really experimented with. I think the experience as a whole really elevated my drawing skills and my versatility as an artist.
