My plan from the last post didn't work at all. I got to a point where I was just aimlessly painting, waiting for it to come together, not actually making it come together. I decided it would best to restart and follow the reference painting, In front of the Mirror more closely. I made a mistake that I commonly make with this painting which is that I jump the gun and skip out on all of the boring preparation which facilitates the paintings success. I think I do this because I

With this project I choose to paint smaller so I could work through paintings faster to get a better sense of what it is I am actually trying to do with the work. I really like the gestural nature of the sketch on the left and I want to experiment more with stuff like that. With this painting I want to focus on a really cohesive composition in terms of color. Despite knowing what I want to do for my composition, I'm I'm exactly sure what it is that I want to do with this work
