My reaction to this work and Davidsons work as a whole is very positive. The composition has a certain energy to it that just captivates me, this picture specifically captures the artistic spirt of the second half of the 60s and New York City. I also find Davidson's subject work for the whole series to be interesting. I think his work is a tasteful contrast to the violence and turmoil and violence synonymous with the 60s, additionally this series heavily contrasts his series which covers the civil rights movement. I was first exposed to Davidson via his civil rights movement related work so really looking into this series has changed by perception of him as an artist.
