The way Micheal Armitage blends realism and loose surreal gestural painting is really fascinating and is an attribute I could add to my painting. I also find his use of color to be interesting, he uses bright neon colors but they are never an eye sore, nor do they stand out. His use of color theory is extremely strong and makes his paintings even more enthralling. My biggest take away from examining his work is that I should experiment more and really push my self to work outside the box.
